September 15th - September 19th

On Monday we celebrated Dot Day.  We read the book called The Dot by Peter Reynolds and spent the rest of the day making our mark and creating dots.  We used pastels and made a dot tree. We painted with watercolours.  We coloured dots and used the ColAR Mix app to make them come to life!  We played some Twister.  We also have a smartie candy guess that is still going on right now!

As you may have heard we have moved classrooms.  Our school added a new Kindergarten classroom so they are moving into our room. We have moved to the science room which is on your way to the gym.  Make sure you come check out our new amazing space soon!

We have completed our first full week of school.  It was great to meet and chat with so many of you at the Open House and BBQ on Thursday night.

This week we have been building our reading stamina, working on writing, and reading to someone. Here is a snapshot of our class reading to someone.

We have also been learning how to sort our PWIM words.

In math we are working on patterning.  This week we practiced spelling our words using playdoh.

Every morning we do morning exercises.  Many of the children have wanted to do these at home. Here is the link to our exercises!

We have had a fabulous first week back!  Our classroom is filled with hardworking and caring kids!  I am excited for all of our learning adventures ahead!

On Tuesday we read a story called First Day Jitters and then we tried some Jitter Juice.  We got to know our classroom and classmates.  We ended the day with playdoh!

On Wednesday we shared our all about me bags.  It was wonderful to learn more about each child in our class.  Thank you for your help with this project.

On Thursday we worked on an art project and here is the final result!  We are all very pleased! Make sure you check it out in person at the open house!

With heart and helpful hands, a child can accomplish anything, 

On Friday we worked on reading and writing.  I sent home this little treat with your child!

Last Blog Post

Thank you all for sharing your children with me this year!  We have had a fantastic year and you have been a fabulous group of parents.  Also, thank you for all of the end of the year treats, gifts, and kind words!

We had a busy last week.  Candy Cane Park, Lego Day, Massey Pool swim and the movie theatre.  With the exception of one injury, things went well and we had lots of fun.

Our Bricks 4 Kids workshop was a blast!  We made battery operated cars and raced them!

NEWS!
Some of you had TBA as your child's teacher next year.  I now have a name!  The grade 3 teacher will be Kelsey Mullen.  She is very excited to meet all of the kids in the fall.
