It was wonderful seeing most of you at the conferences.  I was so proud of all of your children for sharing their amazing portfolios with you.  They have been working hard these last few months and they will continue to work and show growth as the year goes on.  THANK YOU for all you are doing to support your child with his/her learning at home!

This  week we made some Charlotte's Web pictures using Eric Carle's technique.  Everyone did a fabulous job on their pictures!

Here is a video that we have been exercising to in the classroom.  I promised that I would add it to our blog!  I need to video the kids doing it in the classroom!  It is really fun to watch them dance!

November 5th - November 8th

On Monday our school superintendent, Mr. Luc Lerminiaux, came in for a visit.  He read the story called A Poppy Is to Remember by Heather Patterson.

On Tuesday we had an author named  Tyler Enfield come and visit grades 1-6. He shared some wonderful stories with us!!

On Wednesday we had Lori and Potter come and visit our classroom.    We learned a lot about burrowing owls!  Ask your child to tell you a few things that they learned!  Potter was such a cute owl but he was a little shy.  He did come out to take pictures with the kids!

In math we are working on a new unit called Numbers to 100.  We have been skip counting by 2's, 5's and 10's.  We have also learned about even and odd numbers.

We had a very nice Remembrance Day assembly on Thursday. Talk with your child about our service and what we talked about this week at a school.   Here is the pledge that we read at the assembly.

Remembrance Day Pledge

We pledge-
That as adults and children-
We will do what we can-
To solve conflicts-
And prevent wars-
Starting today, -
In my home, -
In my classroom, -
And on the playground, -
I will be a peacekeeper.
