March 18th - March 22

We started the week with by graphing Lucky Charms.  We worked on this project with many other primary classes.  Check out the results page here.   http://www.projectsbyjen.com/Projects/LC13/LC13_results.html   It is so nice to see that other students far away learn the same skills that we do.

Our gift basket raffle is a hit!  We are excited to find out the total.  Mr. MacKenzie even bought some tickets.  Mr. MacKenzie also gave us $1000 for our project!  Check out the video here at the splash park website!

It was so nice to see you all at the Celebration of Learning.  I know your child was happy to show you their learning!

CELEBRATION OF LEARNING CONFERENCE

Dear Parents,
On March 22, 2013 the Grade Two classes will be holding a Celebration of Learning.  You may visit our classroom anytime on this day from 8:30AM to 12:00PM or 1:00PM – 4:00PM.
The Celebration of Learning is a demonstration conference where students have the opportunity to share their expertise in several subject areas with their parents.  Our classroom will be set up with various stations that both the students and parents work through together.
Your child will lead their conference and direct you through each station.  Parents will have the opportunity to see firsthand the areas of study that we are working on and the strengths of their child.
Throughout this demonstration conference time I will be available to answer any questions that you may have.
I hope you enjoy our Celebration of Learning!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Sanchuck

February 25th - March 1st

Our week started off with a Cool Kids Who care presentation.  The presenter did some magic tricks while explaining that cool kids care and don't bully.

We have been working on our community project this week.  We learned about what a community is and we went for a walk around our community.  We stopped to take a picture at the home of the future splash park!

We have started working on our next fundraising idea.  A note was sent home this week.  Please let me know if you did not receive it.   We are also building our own 3D community.  Please send any small boxes you have at home.

We are wrapping up our unit on addition and subtraction to 18.  You can help your child by practicing basic math facts at home.
