December 15th - December 19th

What a fun filled week we have had!

At the beginning of the week we participated in the Hour of Code.  Coding is telling a computer what you want it to do and involves step-by-step commands.  I was surprised how fast everyone picked up on it.  Many students want to continue learning about coding. Here is the website we used: HOUR OF CODE.

We had a few more Genius Hour presentations this week.
We had a movie presentation.
These girls made brownies.
These girls did a presentation about dolphins.
These boys did a presentation about knights.

Our elf has brought us a few treats this week.

Our class did a fabulous job at the Christmas Concert.
We hope that you enjoyed it!!

We had a great time at the Government House on Friday.  We had a tour of the museum, decorated gingerbread cookies and played in the storytime room.   Thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers!

Thank you all for your kind words, cards, and gifts this holiday season.  I am so fortunate to work with this amazing class of grade 2's! They are such a kind, caring, and fun class.  I hope that you and your families make some amazing memories this holiday season.  I can't wait to see everybody in 2015!

December 1st - December 5th

This week we welcomed two new additions to our classroom.  We welcomed a new student named Brooke and we are so excited that she has joined our class.  We also welcomed an elf named Buddy Jingle to our classroom.  Buddy Jingle has been moving around our classroom each night and we write a morning report every morning.  On Monday we discovered him reading a book in our classroom.  Ask your child where Buddy has been discovered this week!

We decided to "Elf" ourselves.  Make sure you check them out when you come to the Christmas concert!

We are working hard on our new unit in math.  We are practicing our math facts to 18 and this week we learned a few games to help us practice.
