THANK YOU

I wanted to THANK everyone for all of the kind words that I have received through emails and cards this week. These mean more than you know! I am still teary eyed!

Thank you for the classroom gift and all of the individual gifts that I received.  I was not expecting to be spoiled like I was.  It was a gift to share your children with you this year and I am sad to see the year end.  I had an amazing class this year and have loved coming to work each and every day. Please give your child a big hug from me!!

Please keep in touch.  I would love to hear an update from your child any time!

Have a safe summer and make lots of fun memories with your family!

June 15th - June 19th

This week we explored birchbark biting artwork.  We tried making our own with some carbon paper. It was tricky.

We headed to the Lawson pool for a swim with MANY other kids.

PJ day with flashlights and blankets!  BEST DAY EVER! It was so much fun making forts and reading books with a buddy in our fort.

We had perfect weather for Candy Cane Park!

We had the whole pool to ourselves at Massey Pool!  Great weather and fun!

June 8th - June 11th

Dancing with ribbons outside on a beautiful sunny day.

It is hard to believe that we only have 9 days left together!  : (

Some of you may have heard that this will be my last year at Jack MacKenzie School.  I am sad to be leaving such an amazing place but excited for a new challenge and adventure.  I have accepted a position as a teacher librarian at Argyle and George Ferguson schools.  It is hard to leave the classroom but I will be able to serve more students and teachers in this new role.  I will look back on this year with such fond memories.  This has been such a special and amazing group of kids.

I will slowly start sending stuff home over the next week so please make sure your child has his/her backpack each day.  I would like the majority sent home by the 23rd of June.

On June 25th I will send home the report card and a Grade 2 memory book as a keepsake for you and your child.  We will be working on these over the next few days.  Please note that it is a 2:30 dismissal time on this day!

Please ensure that you have sent back any school library books and have paid all outstanding fees online.

June 1st - June 5th

We went to The Globe Theatre to see Mary Poppins this week.  Here are some of our reviews:

This week we went to Mary Poppins. It was almost three hours long.  Lots of the class got hungry.  It was a really awesome play. There was tap dancing.  (Torin)

Mary Poppins was a good show because there were lots of characters.  I think the class enjoyed it. (Alec)

Mary Poppins was good and the class enjoyed it because there was singing and dancing.  My favourite was the tap dancing.  (Kendall)

Mary Poppins had a scary part.  It was when Mary Poppins put the kids to sleep and the toys came to real life.  I really liked this part. (Zoey)

Mary Poppins was fun because it had an intermission and we could walk around.  The play was awesome.  The best part was the costume changes. (Zach)

This week we presented our character book reports.  Check out these pictures of our class.
