April 7th - 11th

This week we tried out a new exercise website called GoNoodle.  It has a few neat exercises but our class seems to prefer Just Dance as part of our morning exercises.

We had some students come talk to us about bullying.  The read us a book called One by Kathryn Otoshi. It was a wonderful book with a great message.

This week we are working on Genius Hour projects.  Students picked a topic that they were interested in and are working on their non fiction reading skills.  Ask your child what their project is about!

As you may have heard we have been busy practicing our Robert Munsch plays.  We had two groups perform last week and two more should be ready this week.  I have recorded their performances and will share them soon!

Here is our One And Only Ivan reader response bulletin board.  We are still enjoying our newest read aloud called Rump!

Upcoming Dates
- Easter Holidays start on April 18th.  School resumes on April 28th.
- Swimming notes were sent home.  Please return them this week.  We are walking to the pool so you do not need to send the $10 transportation fee.

March 31st - April 4th

Thank you all for attending 3-Way Conferences on Friday March 28th.  Many great conversations were had!

We have been talking a lot about RESPECT in our classroom.  Students are working in groups discussing respect.  They made posters and we are in the process of sharing them with the class.

Tuesday was April Fools day.  I made Brown E's for the class.   Some students also worked on a fake word search!

Here are some of our boys during a Daily 5 cycle.  Some are working on iPads and some are reading to self.

We are working on a drama unit.  Students are working on acting out Robert Munsch books.  Ask your child what book they are working on.  They are very excited about this project!
