May 22-25

I hope that you all had a nice May long weekend!  I can't believe that we are heading into June already!  June will be a busy and fun-filled month for grade 2!

This week I have been busy testing the kids in math and I have started to do their reading assessments.  The growth and progress they have made is outstanding!  I will continue with their reading assessments next week.

Restaurant Days were a HUGE success.  Thank you all for your assistance with sending the supplies.  I will post the Tasta Pasta pictures soon!

Ms. Thomas has continued to work with our class on self regulation.  We are learning about some superhero characters and the characteristics they have.  I'm sure you may hear more about them in the next few weeks.

This month we are finishing up a Geometry unit in math.  In reading we are working on the differences between a "Fact and Opinion" as well as "Comparing and Contrasting" information that we are reading. Both of these are excellent strategies to know when trying to understand what we are reading.

We are doing a mini research group project about the 4 food groups.  We will also be looking at labels soon.

There are many dates to remember this month.  Please check the school website for activities happening in the school.

June 4th, 6th, 11th, 13th, 18th - SWIMMING lessons
