January 5th - 6th

We are heading to Boggy Creek on January 17th for an extended half day field trip. I hope that the weather cooperates and we get a bit more snow!! I'm not sure that I've ever wished for snow before!

In this field study students explore the wonderful world of snow. They study the winter environment, the properties of snow, and how the land changes during this harsh season. In addition, students see first hand how animals adapt to winter, what different birds, mammals and insects do to survive. By learning how animals make the most of the season, we can make the most of it too.

Here is a list of the items that your child will need!

- to dress in layers (no jeans)
- winter jacket
- ski pants
- wool socks
- winter boots
- toque or balaclava
- neck warmer
- warm pair of mitts
- backpack (no agendas or books please!)
- 1/2 litre of water (pot in ziplock bag if possible)
- hot beverage in thermos (optional: put in ziplock bag if possible)
- healthy snack
-extra large healthy lunch
- No gum, seeds, junk food or pop
- bathroom tissue in a plastic bag

Please note that this will be a very active day so send lots of fruits and vegetables for your child to eat while we are on this trip. They will need lots of energy!!

Next week we will have a guest from the Board Office who will help us prepare for our trip.
